Boundary integral equation methods for the solution of scattering and transmission 2D elastodynamic problems

Abstract We introduce and analyse various regularized combined field integral equations (CFIER) formulations of time-harmonic Navier in media with piece-wise constant material properties. These can be derived systematically starting from suitable coercive approximations Dirichlet-to-Neumann operators (DtN), we present a periodic pseudodifferential calculus framework within which the well posedness CIER established. also use DtN to derive OS methods for solution elastodynamics transmission problems. The develop this paper relies on careful singularity splittings kernels boundary operators, is basis high-order Nyström quadratures their discretizations. Based these discretizations investigate rate convergence iterative solvers applied CFIER scattering variety numerical results that illustrate methodology leads important computational savings over classical CFIE one, whenever are used ensuing discretized equations. Finally, show competitive high-frequency high-contrast regime.
